What is Break?

Break is an app to share personal events with friends. We call them breaks. When you create a break, you’ll start with an empty canvas. You can either plan an event and invite your friends, or simply throw out the idea; “hey - let’s do something!” and let your friends be part of the planning, by suggesting a location, time, and activities - for a more spontaneous gathering.

Who can see and join a break I create?

Only people who get invited in the app or by link, by either you or by another person invited to your break. You can view who has been invited to the break in the invited settings for each break.

How do I find my people in the app?

First time in the app you will be asked to invite others to the break with a link, or maybe you already got an invitation to a friend's break via a link. The next time you use the app, the option of inviting with a link will always be there but people you’ve been on a break with will also be visible in the app. The list of your people gets smarter the more you use the app.

Why do I see people I don’t know?  

People you have been on a break with are visible in your app when you create your own break. You can manage who you see and remove people by long-press their profile picture at any time. Nobody will be notified when you edit your list of friends.

I don't have any friends to invite?

In Break you don’t need to “add friends” to invite them to a break. You can invite everyone through a link and just like in real life you’re building a network of people around you with various relationships. Break makes it easy and fun, both to reach out to your close friends and a wider group of people you want to stay in touch with.

What happens when I share a break?

After you’ve created a break and you click on the invite button, you can select to easily share the break with a link to people who do not have the Break app. Just paste the link into various messaging apps. A unique and secure link is sent and your friends can join the break by following the link.

Can I share a break on Messenger?

Yes, you can! Simply go to your break, tap on “invite” and then “share link”.

Can I share a break on Whatsapp?

Yes, you can! Simply go to your break, tap on “invite” and then “share link”.

Can I share a break on Snapchat?

Yes, you can! Simply go to your break, tap on “invite” and then “share link”.

Can I share a break with a text message?

Yes, you can! Simply go to your break and tap on “invite” and then “share link” and select your preferred messaging platform.

Can I report or remove a person from my break?

Yes. By blocking a person, they will be removed from your known people list, and you will no longer be able to invite them to the break. If you would like to report someone they will be reported, but also be blocked.

Can I report or remove a post from my break?

Yes, by reporting a post in your break it will also be removed.
